Tai istorija apie du žmones Liusiją ir Diegą. Liusija ištekėjus moteris turinti sūnų ir vyrą. Tačiau ji nė neįtaria, kad jos vyras gyvena dvigubą gyvenimą ir turi kitą žmoną bei dukrą, o ją vedė tik norėdamas pasipelnyti, nes jos tėvas Nestoro Savater turtingas verslininkas. Bet Liusija yra neteisėta Nestoro dukra, nes jis su jos motina Mersedes buvo užmezgęs tik trumpalaikį romaną. Todėl Nestoro nepripažįsta Liusijos kaip dukros ir niekada net nesirūpino ja.
Tuo tarpu Diegas talentingas ir perspektyvus futbolininkas populiarus visoje šalyje ir dievinamas daugybės gerbėjų. Jis susižadėjęs su teisėta Nestoro Savater dukra Rakele.
Liusija ir Diegas susitinka visai netikėtai mašinų spūstyje kai Liusija paprašo iš Diego parašo jos sūnui ir išsiskiria net nepažinodami viens kito. Deja po šio susitikimo jų gyvenimas apsiverčia. Diegas susikivirčija su pavydžia sužadėtine Rakele, kuri iššoka iš mašinos ir užsimuša. Diegas apkaltinamas dėl jos mirties ir penkiems metams patenka į kalėjmą. Tuo tarpu Liusijos vyrą Fernandą pagrobia tiesiai iš mašinos prieš Liusijos ir jos sūnaus akis bei reikalauja didžiulės išpirkos. Tačiau iš tiesų tai tik Fernando sąmokslas, kaip prasimanyti pinigų ir gyventi su kita savo žmona. Liusija parduoda namą, kad galėtų sumokėti tariamiems Fernando grobėjams. Tačiau Fernandas neatsiranda. Liusija neturėdama pinigų išsikrausto gyvent pas mamą ir pradeda dirbti turgaus kavinėje.
Praėjus 5 metams Liusija ir Diegas vėl susitinka bei karštai įsimyli viens kitą. Tačiau jų meilės laukia daugybė išbandymų: jei nepritariantis paauglys Liusijos sūnus, be proto įsimylėjusi Diegą Rakelės dvynė sesė Monika, bei netikėtai po 5 metų sugrįžęs Liusijos vyras, kuris yra tikras blogio įsikūnijimas, o jo svarbiausias siekis, bet kokia kaina prasimanyti kuo daugiau pinigų.
